A Direct Line

Dua is unique because it requires no priest or intermediary. It is a direct conversation between the creation and the Creator. Allah says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." (40:60)

Etiquettes of Acceptance

While Allah hears all, certain states increase the likelihood of response:

• Raising hands with humility.
• Starting with praise of Allah (Hamd) and blessings on the Prophet (Salawat).
• Face the Qibla and have Wudu (preferred).
• Showing desperation and firm belief in the answer.

Golden Times

The Prophet mentioned specific times when doors of heaven are open:

• The last third of the night (Tahajjud).
• Between Adhan and Iqamah.
• During Sujood (Prostration).
• While it is raining.
• The last hour of Friday (Asr).
